Bring Your Own Bike or Rent One, Even E-Bikes
You can bring your bike with you if you can, but don’t let that stop you from participating. If you don’t have access to a bike, you can rent a bike or even an E-Bike. There really isn’t a reason not to check it out if you are interested in a bike tour. It’s a highly recommended guided tour.
Bring a Bicycle Trailer For Your Children or Pets
This is fun for all ages. If you bring your bike and have a trailer, I would bring it and attach your bike trailer to pack items you may want to buy along the ride or use it to bring along your children or pets. The scenery along the lake is beautiful with historic homes and nature.
Get to Know White Rock Lake Park
With over 9 miles of trails around the park, there are numerous areas to stop and take a break to soak in the sights or have a picnic. You never know what wildlife you might see. It is also a great place to venture through the arts and markets they have available on the East side of the Lake. Bring your paddleboard or kayak to take out on the lake after you finish your bike tour. Boat ramps are located strategically for your convenience. It is a beautiful recreational lake to explore. They have a Dog Park if you want to let your pet run off some energy before or after the tour with a dog launch into the lake. Pavillions are available for rent. Stop by and check out the Museum and Bath House Cultural Center located at the same place to learn more about the history of the park and the arts in Dallas.
Dive into the Arts and Culture of Deep Ellum
The neighborhood is bustling with artists and music in this eclectic atmosphere. It is known for its historic architecture and budding music scene. The venue Trees has hosted notable artists in the infancy of their careers at this iconic music hall. Such artists as Erykah Badu, Nirvana, Radiohead, and The Toadies have all performed here. Downtown Dallas is the historical area where John F Kennedy was fatally shot on his parade through Dallas in 1963. The 6th Floor Museum documents the incident with information and views of Dealey Plaza and the Book Depository. If you are visiting Downtown, this should be on your bucket list! The tour takes you through this historic area and will provide insight on the circumstances surrounding this day.
