We visited Colorado Springs, Colorado in October and it was absolutely breathtaking! Garden of the Gods does not disappoint. Those red rocks are spectacular. It is so awe-inspiring to see the beauty that surrounds us.
The drive through the park is calm and quiet. The reverence of the location hits you as you descend from the road into the city. The views are unimaginable when you turn that corner and bask in the majesty of this place.
You have the option of hiking through the parks or turning off in the busy areas of the park. I encourage you to get out there and explore on foot so you can fully take in the sights this place has to offer.
Colorado may be a desert, but its topography does not disappoint. If only we could all be so fortunate to see this during all seasons to watch it change from fall colors to snow-capped in the winter and back to foliage in the spring.
If you are in Colorado Springs, it’s a no Brainer to visit this Park
Garden of the Gods is literally in the city and is one of the most accessible places. If you only have a few hours between flights on a layover, this is the attraction to see. You can easily drive over or uber to see it and get back before your next flight leaves. The fare is reasonable to uber or lyft and will provide some much needed time away from the hustle and bustle of traveling and airports. You can grab some lunch or a meal to bring with you to each in the park.
The Information Center is a Great Resource about the Park and has a Gift Shop
When I last went, I wasn’t able to bring my kids with me. They had both went with us a few years before, but were very young and unable to remember the trip well. My oldest loves maps and rocks and their gift shop had the best maps for a souvenir. They were informative and beautiful. I was able to grab a really cool T-Shirt and some rocks for his collection.
